FAMILY ROOMS

|
Problem:
- The house was large but had no casual room for the family to gather when grown children
came to visit.
- The house was nicely positioned on its slot but there was no place to sit and enjoy the
view other than the formal dining room.
- The homeowners wanted a view of Sugarloaf Mountain through really great windows, but
they also wanted to be able to watch TV and enjoy their fireplace.
Solution:
- Add a two-story room, to fit with the scale of the large house, off the kitchen and the
dining room. Sugarloaf can be seen from most angles.
- Decorate casually and warmly.
- Fit a gas fireplace into a custom-built cabinet in the corner with a TV cabinet above
it, hidden behind pocketed doors.
